Outlook "Something went wrong" after tenant migration
After migrating a Office365 tenant, the users that were logged-in will have issues to log-in into the new tenant. This are the fixes i've used for Windows and MacOS.
Windows
Start with:
- Remove every refrence of office from the refrences manager in Windows
- Remove the work-account in the settings (check this, even if you are sure that it's not there)
- Remove the account from the Outlook profile
Now the fix, remove this folder: %localappdata%\Microsoft\IdentityCache
.
Just to be sure, restart the machine, and try it again!
MacOS
- Remove every refrence in Keychain Manager that looks related to Outlook/Office
- Make sure Outlook has been closed
Now continue with these:
- Remove this folder (or rename it to old):
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office
- Remove this file
~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Outlook.plist
- Remove the Outlook profile, just to be sure: Ctrl+click or right-click Microsoft Outlook, and then select Show Package Contents. Open Contents > SharedSupport, and then launch Outlook Profile Manager and remove the profiles.
I wanted to share these, as they were too hard to find.
